Our visit to Taroko Gorge (Taroko National Park) was one of our favorite days during our many weeks in Taiwan. We thought it deserved a story told through pictures. We hope the photos below inspire you to travel to Taroko Gorge or at the very least, inspire you to explore nature near you. If you’re looking for more details like how to get there or what trails to hike, you can read our post on Taroko National Park.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by. Go hiking!

This turquoise water can be found throughout Toroko Gorge.
Depending on the season you can see many different species of birds in this park.
The cloudy day made the mountains seem ominous.
We saw many colorful butterflies on our hike. This is one that sat still long enough for a picture.
The hike to the waterfalls had many dark and creepy tunnels. Don’t forget a flashlight…or your phone!
